Two-Spirit Belonging in SOGI-Inclusive Frameworks

 

Prior to colonialism, Indigenous peoples had many traditional understandings of SOGI. These new resources, including an introductory document, a lesson plan and unit plan, and our much anticipated SOGI + Indigeneity Learning Burst, aim to help integrate Indigenous perspectives into SOGI-inclusive frameworks by providing an introductory understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing and being on the topic. It will help educators foster a deeper sense of belonging for students who identify as Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer, and provides some historical context for those new to this intersection of identities.
