Gender Equity in the Classroom Podcast

SOGI-inclusive education is a collaborative process. It’s often folks like you, already doing SOGI work in your schools, who help your colleagues come on board. We are delighted to share a resource to support people new to SOGI-inclusion in learning the basics, including some tangible take-aways for those looking to take some first or next steps in creating SOGI-inclusive learning experiences.

Our Alberta SOGI 123 Lead joined Ever Active Schools Podclass to chat about SOGI inclusion in schools. Ever Active Schools is a registered national charity designed to create and support healthy school communities. They engage and support schools through a Comprehensive School Health framework, which addresses health and education goals to improve the social outcomes of children and youth in Alberta.

This Podclass episode covers ways to make classrooms equitable for all genders, outlines the framework of SOGI 123, as well as looks at concrete strategies for creating inclusive class and school environments. It’s a fun, lighthearted introduction that welcomes everyone into the work.
