Nine school districts ARE pilotING THE BC SOGI EDUCATION NETWORK.

This pilot is being conducted by ARC Foundation. Participating school districts include Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Langley, Delta, Sea to Sky, Nanaimo-Ladysmith and Kamloops/Thompson.

School districts in the BC SOGI Educator Network are piloting the following two roles:

ROLE 1 — SOGI SCHOOL LEAD
The SOGI School Leads will raise awareness of SOGI within their schools by developing and implementing SOGI-inclusive practices and initiatives.

ROLE 2 — DISTRICT SOGI COORDINATOR
The District SOGI Coordinator will raise awareness of SOGI with the district by developing district-wide initiatives and supporting the SOGI School Leads.

Once our SOGI School Leads were in place in every school, the Delta School District's SOGI work was invigorated. We focused on building capacity with representatives at every school and soon had SOGI champions fostering positive change at the grassroots level.
