It may include incorporating SOGI-inclusive language into a word problem in math class, reading a book with 2SLGBTQ+ themes in English, or utilizing a SOGI-inclusive lesson plan that supports a competency of your local curriculum. For example, for Kindergarten/Grade 1 we have a lesson on name calling, which encourages students to consider what a caring and respectful environment looks like and what the consequences of name-calling can be.
