Creating inclusive physical environments is a great way to communicate our dedication to fostering safer and more welcoming spaces for all students. Often students will be looking for hints that show them that you are a safe person, or that they’re in a safe space. One way to show students these hints and create visually welcoming spaces is through posters.
The Alberta SOGI 123 Educator Network has created a bilingual poster series to help communicate their dedication to students of all sexual orientations and gender identities. These posters, available in English and French, aim to appeal across K-12 contexts while focusing on elementary schools. Feel free to print them out and add them to your classrooms and schools – they are a great way to add a joyful burst of colour and inclusion to your space.

ALL FAMILIES ARE WELCOME HERE!

When it comes to sports, everyone can benefit from being on a team and finding community. There are physical, social, and emotional benefits that should be available to all students. There are plenty of harmful ideas and misinformation around fairness and inclusion in sports, especially when it comes to the participation of trans women and girls.
A rise in hate hurts everyone. Creating inclusive physical environments is a great way to communicate our dedication to fostering safer and more welcoming spaces for all students. By using visual displays of acceptance and inclusion, people can be reminded that we have more in common than we do differences.
These posters can signal to students that you are striving to create a space where everyone can participate.
