Learning Module: SOGI + Indigeneity
Prior to colonialism, Indigenous peoples had many traditional understandings of SOGI. This 90-minute learning module aims to help integrate Indigenous perspectives into SOGI-inclusive frameworks by providing an introductory understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing and being on the topic. It will help educators foster a deeper sense of belonging for students who identify as Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer, and provides some historical context for those new to this intersection of identities.
SOGI 123 90-minute Learning Modules are designed for educators who have completed our foundational modules and are looking for a deeper SOGI-inclusive learning experience. Each module includes three downloadable resources: a video, an editable PowerPoint presentation, and a Facilitator’s Guide—complete with speaker’s notes, discussion questions, activities, and worksheets.
Ideal for professional development days, conferences, and longer workshops.
